Vampire Renee

Something that none of you might know is that I’m proudly part of a group of girls called Pinups for a Cause where we help charities raise money usually by selling baked goodies such as cupcakes all while wearing vintage attire and 5 inch heels. Now yes, some might wonder how does a goth girl dress up as a pin-up and most of you are probably picturing that rockabilly style but nope not quite.

I’ve been having a hard time finding inspiration besides the rockabilly style which is what is the closest to gothic pin-up but to me has always been more punk, personally. Since the beginning I was marked and gladly accepted the role as the resident gothic pin-up but how does on mix the gothic with the vintage that’s not too modern but still comfortable with modern pieces that are affordable. And I’ve had a hard time finding that balance for myself and it has nothing to do with the high heels that make me a bit shaky. And I’ll admit that I’m not the most ‘girly’ or feminine in the traditional stereotypical sense sometimes.

I’ve been trying to draw inspiration from a few women who portray that gothic glamor with that vintage edge. Some of these woman include Dita Von Teese and Vampira who I both admire in there style and performances. Vampira was the 50’s queen of horror while Dita is the modern vintage goth glam that I want as well. They both have some killer curves which myself as a plus size woman loves to have and I’m not shy to wear corsets to achieve these shapes. I have red hair (which isn’t natural but black was so brown was boring and all the goths I knew had black hair so I wanted to be different) so it’s hard to picture not only hard to picture that way but on someone that’s probably at least 10 sizes bigger. Never the less I will be bringing the gothic vampire vintage glam to the up coming events as I find my own balance and personality which will require a lot more shopping but how many pin-ups do you know that have little bats buckles on their shoes, yes I’m weird like that but love it.
